Here We GO…..

This will be my first really long post.  Done in the spirit of eliminating the need to post  daily.
But First:
Quick Bits:

Kate Moss breaks boundaries.

by Jul on January 18, 2011

Those in the GLBT community will see this as ‘no biggie,’ but Kate Moss is blazing fire as she graces the cover of LOVE magazine with a cover photo of her kissing a well-known transgender model, Lea T.
Kate has had her struggles, but in the end, she’s coming out on the right side of the issues and using her position to crash down some boundaries.
Anne Hathaway ‘Gleefully’ a lesbian aunt

When Anne appears it will be only the 2nd epsiode of Glee that I’ve watched.  The 1st being the episode with Gwyneth Paltrow, but unfortunately, although Hathaway’s not a lesbian in real life, she’s seemingly overjoyed to play one on television. Anne Hathaway will be joining the cast of Glee for a guest spot as a lesbian aunt to Kurt.
If that isn’t enough to make you love her, she’s actually quit the Catholic Church after her brother came out as gay…saying “Why should I support an organization that has a limited view of my beloved brother?” More importantly why support an organization that covers up sexual abuse of children?!

Amber Rose may be with us (not really) and it’s about time.

by Jul on January 16, 2011
Even if not true and a publicity stunt, I’d rather see Amber Rose as a FAKE lesbian than trifling’ Nikki Minaj.
After dating Kanye, Amber Rose has apparently decided to try something new and actually hot. According to the Mail Online, Amber was spotted kissing music video model, Rosa Acosta, after having a nice dinner for two. Clearly, she’s moved up in the world.
The Prettiest Little Liar and Friends:

No No Mrs. Fields and other script issues in PLL.
I know, I know I’ve waited a Loooong time before posting on MAE and I apologize profusely. I was enamored with Natalie’s performance in Black  Swan, then stunned by her pregnancy and finally repulsed by the knowledge that she stole or was seduced by her fiancé, who is doing the 21st Century thing by knocking up a wealthy woman in hopes of marrying her.
Do you remember the episode where Maya attends dinner at Emily’s? She told a story of how her parents were married after she and a sibling were born. This shocked Emily’s morally delusional mother.

So I’m wondering how, after Emily’s mom finds pot in Maya’s backpack and reports the girl to her parents.

What I;m wondering is why Maya’s family would sent her to a strict “Juve” reform place? What’s with the histrionics lady? Chill.

Clearly in the original story it was Emily who was sent away so couldn’t the writers think of a better way to remove Maya from the picture?
We’re NOT going to see Maya again until the end of the season so burn these images into your brain:

Ladies Start Your Engines: The Race for Oscar is ON.
Although it may be premature to predict that Portman and Bening are locked in as nominees for best actress until after the BAFTA and SAG awards it seems pretty much seems a done deal that these two will go head to head.
So what will tilt the Academy in Portman’s favor? Well the fact that a DVD Screener version of Black Swan was leaked onto the internet a mere two days after the movie opened nationwide certainly helped to generate buzz for the movie.  The same was done for the movie Blue Valentine but there is not much buzz for that movie. Kids didn’t appear online until months after its release.

Or, the fact that Natalie Portman actually studied dance from ages 3 to 12 and again for 1 year studying Ballet for her role as Nina the Ballerina with the borderline personality.

If Bening were to win the award, then as I wrote in an earlier post: It will be awarded because of her (Bening) longevity in the business.
I watched The Kids Are All Right but felt that there was so much that was wrong with that movie.
Sure I appreciated the representation of more mature lesbians onscreen and unfortunately as an individual who had also had been in a long term relationship, I too have felt the sting of the directive to “Stay Together,” because I had been with her for so long.”

And that is where the movie fails for me.  The infidelity was bad enough but infidelity of such magnitude with your children's sperm donor no less? Well such behavior is irreparable, and you had been in a long term relationship (over 10 years) then you’d know that.
So when other lesbian websites and blogs cheerlead for this movie, I wonder why? Particularly since they have youthful readers who definitely come to this blog and then like the children they run run back to their babysitters complaining that URBAN Sapphic “burst”  the happily ever after: “Of course your heterosexual affair won’t end our lesbian relationship” dream.
No no no as I wrote before Hollywood has a vested interest in maintaining the illusion that lesbians secretly crave dick.  But actions like that which appeared in Kids, well such behavior causes IRREPARABLE damage to the relationship. If such a relationship, were to continue it would never be the same and would be rife with intense distrust.

Considering the average age of their followers and the supposed maturity of the writers  of such sites like: Dorothy Surrenders and AfterEllen and She Wired.  I believe they have a moral obligation to set an intelligent standard for their readers as to what is acceptable behavior.
