It’s ALMOST a done deal...

If Natalie Portman aces the Best Actress award at the Screen Actor’s Guild Awards Sunday February 30th then she is 2 steps closer to Oscar.  Because let’s be honest, although I think Annette Bening is swell and admire her taking on a lesbian role, well isn’t it a sad fact that G.L.A.A.D is so desperate for any type of GLBT representation that it wouldn’t have mattered if Bening performed with shyt smeared all over her face because G.L.A.A.D was going to sing the praises of The Kids Are All Right even if the kids were members of Westboro Baptist Church. Granted my criticism of Black Swan was in how lily white the movie was.  But the story, the sequencing, the tension were palpable and made it a great movie nonetheless.
So “it's not too big of a surprise that "Black Swan" earned five Oscar nominations including Best Picture, Best Actress (Natalie Portman), and Best Director (Darren Aronofsky). Portman had already won significant recognition for her role in the ballet thriller at the Golden Globes, the Independent Spirit Awards and 10 regional critics' awards associations. So while her first Academy Award nomination may not have been unexpected, the actress says she's humbled by the honor.” MTV
You shouldn’t be Natalie, you gave a powerhouse performance in Black Swan.
