As I watched My Weekend With Marilyn I could not move past the reality that it was Michelle “Brokeback Mountain” Williams playing the Tragic Icon. However I do admit that there were moments [few and few in between] that she did successfully channel Marilyn. But is it an Oscar worthy performance? Not as far as I’m concerned.
My Weekend With Marilyn certainly was filmed nicely but I had a problem because if any of you have seen Monroe’s body [which is what she was famous for: “Sex Appeal”], well suffice it to say that Williams falls short in more ways than just stature.
